A Student Committee for change &
Empower your students to lead change by engaging them in the Action Plan. Give students, teachers, staff and parents the opportunity to support the goals through community and classroom initiatives and allow students to consolidate learning in a practical setting.
A Community Garden
Community gardens offer local waste management solutions, local food production and community engagement – all while consolidating science learning.
Walk / Cycle to School Days
A student led initiative combines activism, planning and communication with maths, computer science and logisitics. Changing how students get to school will cut the footprint.
Tree
Planting
Tree planting is a great way to engage all stakeholders, consolidates science learning and a tremendous wellbeing activity.
Contact Time
RSP can offer students learning sessions to help them understand sustainability, the Action Plan set and to drive creativity and innovation to deliver the goals.
These are best delivered over 2-3 month period, giving students time in between to plan and create solutions. At the end of each year, students will be invited to report to school leadership and the RSP, setting new targets for the next year.
Intro to Sustainability
A basic overview of sustainability and climate change, planetary limits, the role of the UN, the SDGs and carbon footprints.
The Responsible Schools Action Plan
A presentation of the RS Action Plan, aimed at helping students understand the goals, as well as assigning who will be responsible for which part – travel, waste, energy, community, charity etc.

Sessions to turn plans into action, bringing their ideas to life. Forming teams, inspiring others and reporting success.
