Our vision for a better future

We have big ambitions to help schools in the UK and internationally to cut their footprint and become sustainable. We want to empower students take an active role and become change-makers.

 

We aim to build a network of schools all working towards or building on Responsible School Status, allowing students to share successes with others, create league tables and offer awards.

Our team

Ed Packshaw

Director & Co-Founder

Sustainability specialist with over 13years experience, Ed began his career as a field biologist and climate scientist studying rare bird populations in Mauritius before moving into sustainability. 

Ed helped create Africa’s first green school, designing a sustainable education for Gabon’s top international school, his programme, that was commended by the United Nations Climate Change Committee, aimed to embed an appreciation of nature into every subject. 

After 5 years in Gabon, Ed returned to the UK to support some of the UK’s largest companies be more sustainable, and was awarded the Lord Mayor of London’s Dragon Award for Social Impact during his time as Head of CSR at Mace Group. Today, Ed is Head of ESG Reporting and Communications at Simply Sustainable. 

Nazmul Toropdar

Director & Co-Founder

Naz is a senior corporate social responsibility (CSR) and philanthropy professional. In the early part of his career, he held commercial facing roles and his passion and enthusiasm for the environment and community development inspired him to move to the charity sector, full time. 

Naz held a various leadership positions in a number of voluntary sector organisations. He played a significant role in establishing grant-making bodies supporting disadvantaged communities in Britain, and has worked with renowned UK charitable trusts and foundations. 

He now works in construction within CSR and also advises other corporations and voluntary sector organisations across different industries – including professional services, construction and INGOs – on CSR, social impact, governance and operations matters. 

Naz also sits on the ‘CSR Accreditation’ assessment panel and is keen to support organisations on their CSR journey.
